2013 Fireworks in Whaley Bridge: Sat Nov 2 2013
Following the success of last year’s community Firework display and Lantern Parade, the team behind saving the event have been beavering away to ensure the event happens again this November.
Last year, 2012, Children from the local schools from Whaley Bridge and surrounding area made an unbelievable 430 lanterns in one week and this year’s aim to build on that, with even more creative designs. Over 30 volunteers from all corners of our community contributed to set up and marshalling, ensuring a fun filled safe night for all, with spectacular fireworks before music inside the bowling club.
This year’s event is on Saturday November 2nd, with the lantern parade winding it’s way through Memorial Park from Taxal Primary school. This year’s theme is Space and there are some suprises planned to entertain all along the route.
The event would not happen without the support of Whaley Bridge Town Council, High Peak Borough Council, headline sponsors and the support of the people of Whaley Bridge. We look forward to the seeing you there whatever the weather !
