In brief, children in Whaley Bridge and Furness Vale will attend the local primary schools, i.e Taxal and Fernilee COE school, Whaley Bridge school, Furness Vale School, Kettleshulme and Buxworth Schools. The choices thereafter for  secondary schools are : Chapel High School ( the main feeder school for all in the area),  Hope Valley School , New Mills High School. Some students  go to Thomas More School in Buxton,  and  Poynton School over the border in Cheshire is also an option to be explored. Private schools are also readily accessible, such as ‘The Kings School’ in Macclesfield and ‘Stockport Grammar’ in Stockport.

Beyond secondary School, The 6th Form college in Marple is a normal destination, along with Stockport College. The Kings School has a 6th Form College also. Poynton School also ahas a 6th Form.
