Ozbox sessions help Whaley Bridge brownies get boxing clever

Youngsters at 1st Whaley Bridge Methodist Brownies had the chance to get boxing clever with the local police.

The girls took part in an Ozbox taster session, a boxing based fitness training programme which is designed to raise youngsters’ fitness levels as well as promote self confidence

The session was set up by PCSO Julie Shaw and Brown Owl Sally Whelan, who also volunteers as a Special Constable for the Whaley Bridge and Furness Vale Safer Neighbourhood policing team.

PCSO Shaw said: “The taster session gave the youngsters a chance to take part in a fun activity, which encourages fitness and provides the opportunity for them to get to know their local police.

“We had some really positive feedback from the group, who said they had really enjoyed the session which goes to show how Ozbox can appeals to and reach a wide variety of youngsters.”
