Residents are asked to be aware of several different security companies using high pressure sales techniques to sell home security alarms. They appear to be targeting older residents and arranging appointments in their homes, offering alarms at a minimal charge but with an installation fee. They say that they are working alongside the police and that the alarm is monitored with a direct response from the police, which it isn’t!

If you or your neighbours receive any similar calls, be wary of allowing these cold callers to visit your home and pressure you into buying an alarm. If you do require a security alarm, obtain several quotes from reputable local companies before making any decision.
