Whaley Bridge people will be the first to see a thriller film made locally and featuring a number of local extras. The List, produced by local resident Mike Knowles, will be premiered in the Mechanics’ Institute at 7.30pm on Thursday 26 September. Admission is £4 (£3 concession). There will be a bar.
Denise Thompson, a member of the Whaley Bridge Film Group, which is putting on the showing, said: “I have seen the film – it’s very good,”
Many local people were involved in the filming, including local borough and county councillor David Lomax. He played a newspaper photographer – but without a trilby hat or flash camera. He has seen himself in a trailer for the film in a scene at an office in Macclesfield. David and other local people took part in another scene filmed on Linglongs Road.
Mike Knowles, as a founder member of Whaley Bridge Residents’ Forum, played a prominent role last autumn in the public consultation about future house building plans for Whaley Bridge.
Reservations for Thursday’s premiere can be made at whaleyfilms@hotmail.co.uk or by phoning 07531 982 995.
