Top Brass at Whaley Bridge

Dillon, Emrys, Alex and Cerian

What an achievement! Four young musicians from Whaley Bridge Band taking music exams for the first time have all passed with Distinction. The “Fab Four” are cornet players Dillon Roberts (aged 11) and Emrys Williams (8), Alex Camenzuli (12) on trombone, (all at Grade 1) and high flier Cerian Marsden (12) at Grade 3 on Euphonium.

Their teacher Lorraine Jenkins, who plays Tenor Horn in Whaley Bridge Band, is immensely proud of her pupils: “ I am absolutely delighted that their hard work has produced such excellent results.”

As well as a cohort of talented young players, Whaley Bridge Band also boasts an accomplished Musical Director. Matt Shaw, a recent Honours graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, took command earlier this year and already the band is hitting the high notes under his expert guidance.  And as if that’s not enough, the Band also benefits from sponsorship from Cedar Finance Ltd, now entering its third year.
