The charity wedding fair, organised by local hairdressers Jane Marchington and Megan Riley, has caught the imagination of Whaley Bridge.
The event will consist of a wedding/prom fair in the afternoon at Whaley Bridge bowling club, starting at 1pm and running to 4pm. Entry is FREE, but Jane and Megan request a donation. – all proceeds go to Manchester Royal Children’s Hospital. The charity event was inspired by two year old Max Jones from Whaley Bridge, who has had ten operations at the hospital.
There will be about 30 stands, Inside the club and also in two marquees. During the event there will be a bridal fashion show and demonstration of bridal hair and make-up by Jane and Megan from Sammie’s Hair & Beauty, Whaley Bridge. There will be a raffle for one prize of a BIG Bridal package. This will be drawn at 3.30p.m. Raffle tickets, £2.50 each, are now on sale at Sammie’s and Cavendish Bridal Hayfield.

The evening event, following the fair, will be hosted by The White Horse, Horwich End, Whaley Bridge. It starts at 6.30p.m with duo Alan Longdon and Adam Robinson. There will be a raffle, with many prizes from local businesses, Tickets at £2 will be sold throughout the day, and are also on sale now at Sammie’s Hair & Beauty. At an auction, following the raffle items going under the hammer include:
- a signed Manchester City ‘Away’ shirt
- a museum tour for a family of four,
- Liverpool signed merchandise,
- a child’s bike,
- Barbour clothing; and more!
The evening finishes with the band The Beachcombers, from about 9.45pm.
