A Walk In Time, High Lea Park, New Mills

This impressive project has recently been completed in High Lea Park, New Mills, and we thought it deserves publicity here in Whaley Bridge.

Jill Turner, of High Community Arts, led the project with the involvement of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, New Mills High School, New Mills Parks Dept., St Mary’s Primary School and was funded by the Big Lottery Community Wildlife Fund.

The project has created a wonderful Woodland Walk with Sculptures designed with the assistance of the local school pupils.

A professional sculptor, Lorraine Botterill, carried out the actual sculpture work. She provided tuition to the students as part of the project. The project was aided by the availability of a felled oak tree, and a sycamore tree stump, and took two years to complete.
