Daniel’s Light aims for £200,000

John and Joyce Shacklock from Furness Vale, who set up the charity Daniel’s Light to help fight leukaemia, the disease which killed their only child Daniel, have sent this report and their thanks :

Dear friends of the late Arthur Jackson, it is with love and affection we remember a wonderful and special gentleman.  John and I thank David (Arthur’s son) and his family for their kind thoughts in remembering Daniel’s Light  for Arthur’s memorial service and the donations to the charity.

We are very grateful to all who have donated to us.   The amount received was £600.60.  I am sure Arthur will have a big smile on his face!  It is truly a wonderful amount.  Arthur’s family wish to thank everybody.

We have just donated £10,000 to the Christie Hospital to buy equipment. May we thank you all so much for your wonderful support for Daniel’s Light over the years. A big thank you for our team of ladies who help at our events.  We have now raised over £196,000 for the Christie.  We hope that by this time next year we will have reached the Big  One (£200,000)!

With our thanks and best wishes to you all,  Joyce and John.
