Controversial building plans for Whaley Bridge made headlines on BBC North West’s local news for the second time on Wednesday 23 April.  Viewers saw Kevin Worthington, chair of the campaign group Whaley Bridge Matters and another group member, Barry James.

Whaley Bridge Town Council Publishes its Local Plan Responses

Given the high level of public interest, the Town Council has decided to publish its detailed response to High Peak Borough Council’s Additional Local Plan Consultation.

Members of the public have now very limited to provide their own comments, as the deadline closes on 10th February.

We are informed that a special meeting of the Regeneration Select Committee of High Peak Borough Council will meet the following day Tuesday 11th February at 6.30 at Glossop Town Hall with the following agenda:

1.       Update on key evidence base documents

2.       Questions on the evidence base

3.       Initial outcomes of consultation responses – overall

4.       Initial outcomes of consultation responses on specific sites in the order of Buxton, Central area, Glossopdale (to allow those furthest away to leave the meeting if required)

Dogs to be kept on leads at all times on field

 well behaved, sociable dogs only please. 

Classes £1 each,

 

Class 1 …………. Best any variety puppy (under 12 months)

Class 2 …………. Best any variety dog (1 – 6 years old)

Class 3………….. Best veteran dog (over 7 years)

Class 4………….. Most ‘obedient’ dog any age – sit, lie down and walk                                                                     around a square at owner’s side

Class 5 ………….  Dog with the waggiest tail

Class 6 ………….  Scruffiest Pooch

Class 7 ………….  Best dressed Pooch – Fancy Dress

Class 8 ………….  Dog that looks most like its owner

Class 9 ………….  Dog judge would most like to take home – Free class

Class 10 ………… Best in Show (open to all ‘class winners’) – Free Class

Rosettes for 1st – 4th placings.

Collect entry form from Susanne at Info tent on field.  Return to Susanne by 2.30pm at the latest.  You will be given a number and a list of the classes you have entered.  Children under 11 to be accompanied by adult (over 18). 

Show to start at 3pm (approx). Start of Dog show will be announced over PA.

Poo bags/bin and water bowls provided. 

Entry at owner’s risk.

If you hate having to buy compost why not have a go at making your own? It’s free and better for the environment.

More than a third of household waste is made up of organic material which can be composted. Grass cuttings, unwanted plants, cardboard, newspapers, fruit and vegetable peelings are all ideal.
