At 7pm on Friday 25th November, the Chair of Whaley Bridge Town Council, Cllr David Lomax led the countdown to the switch-on of the Christmas lights.

This was followed by carols sung by the large crowd accompanied by Whaley Bridge Band, and a performance of nativity scenes by members of Churches Together introduced by Rev Margaret Jones.

The Band then gave an impromptu performance in the Mechanics institute where a table-top fair was taking place.
