Furness Vale COGS Field Day – 21 May, 12 noon – 6 pm, at Lodge Farm Field, Calico Lane

Furness Vale Field Day 2016

Come and celebrate with us – improvements finally beginning!

With work starting on the field at Yeardsley Lane, we have to thank local resident and generous supporter, Nigel Marshall, for allowing us to use his land at Calico Lane, off Station Road (map to follow) as a temporary venue for our annual Field Day.

In addition to showcasing several ever-popular Live Bands and a first visit from Walthew House VIP steel band, there will be the usual mixture of Bouncy Castle; BBQ; Bar; Children’s Activities; many and varied stalls and, of course, our popular Dog Show.   This year we can enjoy refreshments ‘chez Nigel’, afternoon teas provided by Friends of Furness Vale Station. See our timetable for further information on activities.

It’s been a long and challenging journey, but we are delighted that we have now taken on the lease of the field and, at last, the vision of the community for its transformation can begin.   The drainage and landscaping is being funded by Sport England, Bernard Sunley, Fields in Trust, local and county councils and our own fundraising.

We are also thrilled to have been chosen for the top award of £12,000.  in Tesco’s Bags of Help grant scheme.   Thanks to all those who voted for us.  This funding will provide picnic tables, flower beds and other environmental features.
