One of the High Peak’s hidden gems, St James’s church at Taxal, will be open over the weekend (Sat 12, Sun 13 Sept) as part of the national Heritage Open Days.
Visitors can learn about the church, accompanied by a nice cup of tea. On Sunday, the more adventurous can join a Heritage Walk, with Sunday Strollers, starting at the church at 2pm and be back in time for afternoon tea at 4pm. The church will be open each day from 1-4pm.
There will be a display of heritage items, and information about the church, with activities for children.
