Volunteers Sought to Steward the Lantern Parade for the Christmas Lights Switch-On

LanternsVolunteers are sought to  help steward a lantern parade down the Whaley incline (the old railway line running from the Shepherds arms  down  into the Canal basin)  on 28th November, the night of the Christmas lights switch-on, arriving in time to greet Father Christmas when he arrives at 6pm, at the Canal Basin.

If you are free on the 28th  Nov and able to give just an hour or so of your time in order to help make these events happen for the kids, then it would be wonderful. If you’ve never volunteered before then just give it a go.  There is a really good sociable group of people of all ages who help with these things but there are never quite enough of them!.

You dont need to miss the event – it can be as simple as donning a high viz jacket(supplied) and walking with your children and watching out at the same time for others.

Volunteers who can assist in marshalling the event should meet for briefing in the Shepherds Arms’ car park on Old Road at 16.30 on Friday 28th November 2014.

Thank you.
