Children of Whaley Bridge campaigners against greenfield building plans gave mum and dad a helping hand at raising awareness.  Just over a week before High Peak Borough councillors vote on their new Local Plan – including site C9, near Macclesfield Road – the youngsters posed in front of  a large campaign banner at Whaley’s new iconic meeting place, the phone box information centre.

One mum carried a poster, showing the greenfield site and asking:  “If Gladman have their way,  where will our children play?”

Please don't build here - where will we play?

Parents -and the token dog – joined a photocall to add to the main campaign, which seeks to persuade borough councillors to delete C9 site from the Local Plan.

One mum told Whaleybridge.com:  “When I told  my little boy about the housebuilding plans, he said ‘You’ve got to write to them and say they can’t – it’s our sledging field!’ ”
