Whaley Bridge Matters Group to protest at Full HPBC Council Meeting

Following on from their recent attendance at the HPBC planning development committee in Chapel-en-le-Frith, the Whaley Bridge Matters group, who are protesting about the proposed development of land behind Macclesfield Road, are planning to attend the full HPBC council meeting at the Pavillion Gardens in Buxton this Monday 24th February. Their aim is to continue to make HPBC Councillors aware of the overwhelming local opposition to development on this site.

The agenda and details of the Full Council meeting can be found at http://www.highpeak.gov.uk/hp/your-council/meetings-agendas-and-minutes/council-7 .

There will be an update on the Local Plan at this meeting, which anyone can attend, by Dai Larner, the Executive Director of HPBC.

The local plan consultation across the High Peak received 4 times as many responses this time than in the previous consultation – 1071 as opposed to 250, and the level of the response , which was unanticipated, has led to HPBC requiring some additional time to process all the data.

4 petitions were received – Macclesfield road site, Whaley Bridge (375 signatures and 152 signatures), Old Glossop (372 signatures). Kinder Road ,hayfield (13 signatures). Public meetings in Whaley Bridge and Hayfield were also attended by members of HPBC.

The Whaley Bridge Matters group would welcome your support at the forthcoming meeting on Monday.
