The Whaley Bridge Rose Queen Festival committee, still basking in the success of June’s event, is providing an exciting start to the Christmas fun for youngsters of local infants’ or junior schools.  A free, pre-Christmas disco will take place in the Bowling Club from 6pm-8pm on Friday 13 December.

Swizzles of New Mills have donated sweets, which will provide a goody bag for each child.

From 8pm, the Rose Queen presentation evening at the same venue will be handing out grants to local charitable groups from the profits at the June festival.

Tim Mourne, Treasurer of the festival, said:  “The evening is our way of thanking the community for their continuing great support.”  For further information, contact Tim on 01663 734 930.
