Here we go! Whaley summer season arrives

No-one told the weather!  As Whaley Bridge’s ‘summer season’ began on Saturday 18 May with Furness Vale’s Field Day, the weather stayed grey, cold and damp on and off.  Nonetheless, it was a great day from the community that works hard for itself.  See picture show below.

The same weekend was Penecost for church folk, the Church’s birthday, and what used to be the Whitsun holiday.  There were two big events for families – the visit by Roly the clown to the Uniting Church for a party organised by Churches Together and on the Sunday another Messy Church at Holy Trinity.  This event, now a regular on the calendar, is an afternoon of craftwork, play, singing and eating.  The next one is in September. See picture show below.
