The date is set: Whaley Bridge’s  2012 Water Weekend W3 will be on Friday 8 June, Saturday 9 June and Sunday 10 June.  W3 has become  the top summer event, famous for its FREE boat trips. This will be the 13th Water Weekend, building on the most successful event in 2011, when over 1,000 people took a boat trip.

Chairman Barry Rudd said:  “We’ve already done much of the planning.  The boat trips are always No 1 on our list, and they will be free again.  We think visitors to W3 deserve a break in these hard times.   Other favourites coming back are the fairground, Punch and Judy, the meerkats, bags of stalls for summer bargains, a steam engine, and music, music, music!  We have a first – a climbing wall.  Watch this website for more information.”

The annual general meeting has been called for 7pm  on Wednesday 15 February at the Whaley Bridge Bowling Club.  All are invited.

Line-ups for the music gigs on the big stage on Friday night and Saturday night, which have become a core part of the weekend, are still being finalised.  After last year’s successes, the committee is confident of an even bigger impact.
