Creativity Media and NOW Films announce major feature film shooting in Whaley Bridge

Local BAFTA nominated production company NOW Films (North Of Watford) productions is delighted to announce that they are starting production on ‘The List’, a political thriller set in and around the Peak District.

Directed by Palme d’Or nominated director Klaus Huettmann, and produced in conjunction with London-based production company Creativity Media, ‘The List’ is looking certain to be a great movie, which will showcase the Peak District like never before.

We are currently in the process of preparing for the shoot, which is scheduled to begin on the 9th of April. In the build up period to shooting ‘The List’, we are on the look-out for a number of services that we would love to source locally.

We need to house our crew, feed them, and find cheap and reliable ways of getting them from place to place. If any local B&Bs, Hostels or private landlords with short-term lets would consider renting a place to us, big enough for 8 people, between the 10th March and the 10th May, do please get in touch! We are based in Whaley Bridge, so the closer the better! We also need a few slightly more unusual one-offs – such as specific vehicles, locations and props. We are very keen to talk to local businesses who would be interested in working with us on this project, and who are able to offer competitive rates, as ‘The List’ is a very low budget film.

However, this film has already generated a lot of national and international interest, particularly at recent film festivals, and we would love as much help as possible to get the project off the ground in the lead-up to the shoot. Once the film is distributed we hope that it will generate great PR and more tourism for the Peak area, and we would be happy to acknowledge anyone who works with us in the film credits: an invaluable way to promote your business! I was wondering if you would need any extras involved with the filming? I am a 12 year old secondary school student who lives in Whaley Bridge and would love to be involved! 🙂
