Prime shop site let to Blythe House

Marie Brown, manager's assistant, with Blythe House volunteers at Whaley Bridge

After months being empty, one of Whaley Bridge’s prime retail sites has been let.  Blythe House, the High Peak hospice, will take over the premises on two floors, formerly occupied by the Arcaz antique shop, just down from the Mechanics’ Institute.

No 15-17 Market Street will become the biggest of Blythe House’s shops, raising money for the charity.  The others are in Buxton, New Mills and Chapel.  The two existing Blythe House shops, one for clothes, the other for furniture, electrics and crockery, will close, with all the business transferred to the new site.  Staff and volunteers will move to the new shop.
