Whaley Bridge’s Rose Queen Festival put on a good show – as they always do – for 2011. They even managed to dodge most of the showers, although the drizzle set in late in the day.
The traditional mix – with some modern twists – pleased the crowd. The ‘royalty’ and the visiting courts were charming, as ever. Whaley Bridge primary school got its centenary celebrations going early. Their parade entry was a vintage Rolls Royce, with a Mary Poppins theme – and won a first prize.
Congratulations to the organising committee for another great event.
