FREE ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORT AVAILABLE FOR FURNESS FIELD DAY & W3

The Whaley Bridge Association (WBA) has arranged for some free tranport provision to support people with mobility issues to attend community-based events including Furness Vale’s Field Day on 21st May and Whaley Water Weekend on the 11th and 12th of June.

If local residents would like to take advantage of this offer then all they need to do is to call 01298 23970 (midweek office hours only) and arrange a time for a pick-up. Times for return journeys can be arranged on the day. This offer is provided in partnership with Buxton Volunteering Centre and residents won’t have to pay a penny. The vehicles are fully wheelchair accessible.

The transport will also be operating a shuttle service throughout the duration of Furness Field Day – picking up at regular times from Horwich End and outside the Jodrell Pub and travelling down to the Furness field. Return journeys will be available later on in the day…and if that wasn’t enough there will be a Walking Bus leaving from outside Petals and Plants in the Canal Basin at 11hr30 and meandering down the canal to the field

For details of all services and other enquiries contact WBA on 01663 719824 or email s.gray@mmu.ac.uk

Funding for the transport has been provided as part of the WBA’s Big Lottery-funded “Whaley Way” project which aims to build the capacity of local community groups and organisations.
