Roads Policing on-line discussion

Roads Policing officers are hosting an on-line discussion about the work they carry out on Derbyshire’s roads.

The special virtual surgery will give people the chance to ask questions and gain a better understanding of their role.

By logging onto the surgery section of the police website www.derbyshire.police.uk, people can speak to the officers between 7pm and 8pm on Tuesday, May 3.

Derbyshire police have hosted several virtual surgeries recently, including one on domestic violence and the force helicopter unit, but this is the first time Roads Policing officers will feature.

Chief Inspector Steve Wilson, who heads the department, said: “People may not realise the breadth of jobs we do here in Roads Policing. We do a lot of work around preventing fatal and serious collisions, motorbike safety and vehicle checks.

“This surgery will give people the opportunity to find out more about what our roles are in the county.”
