Here’s a challenge – Goyt Valley 21k walk

People are being invited to join GV21 – the Goyt Valley 21k Walk on Saturday 7 May.  It will take you through some lovely stretches of the parish of Whaley Bridge in some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain.

The walk is  21 kilometres (only just over 13 miles), starting from St James’, Taxal and going by Windgather Rocks to the Cat and Fiddle.  The route back is mostly downhill, past Errwood and Fernilee  reservoirs in the Goyt Valley to St James’ for soup, a sandwich and a well-earned drink

But don’t hang about – entries must be in by Wednesday 20 April.  Entrance fee is  £5 for each person, with children under 12 free.  The money must be sent in with your completed form.   Sponsorship forms will be available for adults or  children,  Any profits will go to the parish magazine fund, with a minimum of 10 per cent going to  Tackling Poverty Together, the project from the Church Urban Fund which will help disadvantaged families, especiallychildren in  North West England. .
