Police are appealing for information following the theft of catalytic converters from the following vehicles overnight on 25/26th January:

A Land Rover Discovery parked in a residential car park in Holywell, Bakewell overnight on 25/26th January. Crime number: 4523/11.

A Ford transit van parked in How Lane, Castleton, Hope Valley. Crime number: 4566/11.

A Land Rover Discovery parked at The Marshes, Hope, Hope Valley. Crime number: 4592/11.

Thefts such as these seem to be on the increase, possibly being taken to be sold on as scrap. Catalytic converters were recently taken from two 4×4 vehicles parked in Matlock villages.

We are asking residents to be vigilant and report anyone acting suspiciously around cars, particularly if they are looking underneath cars, as they may be searching for catalytic converters to steal.

Also, we would urge people not to leave any items of scrap metal on display in their gardens.
