B1156 Cold Callers / Trick or Treat Posters

If you are fed up with cold callers, a member of community messaging has brought to my attention a website link which has a notice that you can print out and stick to your door – it’s about half way down the page. Visit: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/no-more-junk

Derbyshire Police also has a stock of similar semi cardboard notices that can be displayed in windows or doors. If you ask at any Police station, you should be able to get hold of some for friends and neighbours.

Also, ‘Trick or Treat’ posters now available:

Police are handing out free posters discouraging trick or treaters from calling on residents.

People who do not wish to be visited can display the posters in their front room windows or doors.

Officers are also giving posters to shopkeepers which tell customers that eggs and flour will not be sold to anyone under the age of 16.

People who would like a trick or treat poster should contact their local Safer Neighbourhood team on 0345 123 33 33 or by visiting www.derbyshire.police.uk to find out who is on their team. Posters can also be found at police station enquiry offices and Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinators have been given copies.

Shopkeepers who want egg and flour posters should call their local Safer Neighbourhood team.

Both posters can be downloaded from the police website:

Officers will also increase patrols during this period to deter incidents of anti-social behaviour.
